AARON BURNS
POSITION: Forward
DATE OF BIRTH: 8 November 1987 PLACE: Manchester
MARITAL STATUS: Single but has a current girlfriend.
PREVIOUS CLUBS: He was scouted at the tender age of 9 years by Manchester United. He was playing for a well established and respected local amateur club, Wythenshawe Amateurs, at the time and had already displayed precocious ability. From that point he began a 10 year stint at Manchester United that took him to the fringe of the first team squad and was allocated a squad number in his final year at Old Trafford. Following his release from United he joined FC United of Manchester before signing for Vics last season. He has since had a short loan spell at Droylesden.
THE BEST MOMENTS OF HIS CAREER: Scoring his first goal for Vics at Burton last season, he was particularly pleased with that strike. Scoring a hat trick for Manchester United reserves against Wigan Athletic shortly before his subsequent release.
HIS WORST MOMENT: Suffering a broken leg while at Manchester United that put him out of the game for four months and set back the progress he had been making at the club. He found that period particularly mentally challenging with a constant worry that he may never make an effective return to the game.
THE MOST IMPORTANT GOAL HE HAS SCORED: Aaron firmly believes that his goal against Barrow that gave Vics their first win of this season may yet prove a landmark in this seasons fortunes. He feels that as team confidence builds they have more than enough ability to turn things around.
THE BIGGEST INFLUENCE ON HIS CAREER: He has always made a point of listening to and learning from all the coaches he has played under from the earliest age. While at Manchester United he concentrated on taking in information and then tried to implement it on the football field. He has enjoyed support from all his family and most particularly his dad.
WHO DOES HE RATE AS HIS MOST DIFFICULT OPPONENTS: While at United he played against a number of very talented players but he holds Manchester City's Micah Richards and Middlesbrough's Robert Huth in the highest regard.
THE PLAYER(S) WHO HE MOST ADMIRES: He has no hesitation in stating that he is a huge fan of Andy Cole. And Ian Wright is a second icon.
THE LOUDEST MANAGER HE HAS PLAYED UNDER: Dino Maamria
WHICH TEAM DOES HE SUPPORT: No surprises here; he is a keen Manchester United fan.
WHO ARE HIS BEST FRIENDS IN FOOTBALL: Team mate Jamie Mullan as well as Manchester United's Fraser Campbell and Danny Simpson, who is currently on loan at Blackburn Rovers. They all joined Manchester United at a similar age and came through their ranks together.
HOBBIES: Computers, shopping and enjoys going out clubbing.
MUSIC: R & B and Hip Hop. The last cd he bought was by rapper T.I.
WHAT WOULD HE HAVE BEEN HAD HE NOT BEEN A FOOTBALLER: Although he has been involved in the game since he was nine years old he feels he would still have gravitated toward sport and taken up a role in coaching or fitness training.
